A welcome additionThis workbook is a wonderful hands-on, interactive companion to the book, Notching Up the Nurtured Heart Approach – The New Inner Wealth Iniative for Educators by Howard Glasser and Melissa Lynn Block. As a licensed psychologist, I have been amazed by the power for positive change and identity transformation found in the NHA. It has become a core component of everything I do as a professional, as a husband, a father, an employer, and a human. One of my greatest professional joys is to help unleash the power of the NHA in schools and classrooms.Lisa Bravo is a world class expert in the NHA. She is an accomplished speaker, author and trainer in this approach and she is the co-director of NHA’a parent organization, the Children’s Success Foundation. I am familiar with her work and her level of expertise. As such, I strongly recommend Ms. Bravo’s book, Notching Up the Nurtured Heart Approach Workbook – The New Inner Wealth Inititive. The workbook is filled with clear, practical, creative, hands on, stimulating and thought provoking exercise, tools, tips, explanations, and insights to help bring this wonderful approach more fully alive and accessable in your classrooms and schools. Beyond simply a classroom behavior management program, the NHA empowers every teacher, every adult to actively and intentional transform a childs sense of self – whether positive or negative – into an ever greater understanding of the inner strength and wisdom they possess, of the power they have to make positive choices and shape their lives in positive ways, and of the steadfast, unyielding ability they possess to successfully cope with all of the various challeges they are sure to encounter. To settle for using this approach as simply being about behavior management would be akin to settling for a sand box when you could have your own private island and beach. I believe the energized, unequivical application of the NHA may be the greatest gift we can give our children and students.

GREAT Info, Difficult AccessThe Nurtured Heart Approach is the BEST approach I’ve seen for difficult kids – and everyone else! – that I’ve ever seen or practiced. This book is not exception in content.The ONE problem I have is that the book is beautifully written on color pages, but with light print on color it is very difficult for me to read with my vision trouble. Bolder print … or “boring” black on white … would have made the information much more accessible to me.If you can see well, you won’t go wrong owning and using this book.
