About the Author

Howard Moody has been facilitating play for over 25 years. He specializes in designing team building, stress reduction, and wellness presentations that are full of play, joy and laughter.

Howard has also been a teacher and successful coach of numerous sports for many years and deeply understands the value of creating effective teams and how to achieve peak performance.

His initial interest in play started as an athlete but turned more toward alternative recreation when he took training’s with the New Games foundation, Project Adventure, and in Original Play and improvisational theater.

Howard has been (and is still currently) a core faculty member at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies for many years and he is also the co-founder of the Adventure Game Theater, an extraordinary improvisational learning process for teens that has been featured in Mothering magazine and on PBS and NPR. Combining experiential learning with creativity, improvisational theater, play, community building, mythology and storytelling the Adventure Game Theater has brought magic into many young people’s lives. He is currently on the faculty of Retribe, a dynamic rites of passage program for teens that incorporates Adventure Game theater into its transformational programming.

Deepening connections among people is Howard’s passion and his mission is to help people be fully inspired,creative and playful in all that they do. Howard is a certified Advanced Trainer for the Nurtured Heart Approach.

Howard Glasser is the founder of Children s Success Foundation and creator of the Nurtured Heart Approach, which is being used in hundreds of thousands of homes and classrooms around the world.

He is author of Transforming the Difficult Child, currently the top-selling book on the topic of ADHD; The Inner Wealth Initiative, one of the leading books on school interventions and his most recent book, YOU Are Oprah – Igniting the Fires of Greatness.

Howard has been a featured guest on CNN and a consultant for 48 Hours. His work is being successfully applied to programs with Meth addicts to the Military – from Marital Counseling to Mentoring programs – from Headstarts to High schools, from Treatment programs to Eldercare and from Fostercare programs to programs fostering inner wealth in infants and todlers.

His wonderful daughter Alice has done the cover art for four of his books is now a painting student at Rhode Island School of Design.

Alice Glasser

Alice Glasser is an artist and graphic designer, and a certified Nurtured Heart Approach Advanced Trainer. She helps her father on various creative projects, editing and visually interpreting. She is currently living and working in New Zealand, supporting her church.

Melissa Lowenstein

Melisa is a writer and editor who has co-authored multiple books on the Nurtured Heart Approach with Howard Glasser. She is a certified NHA trainer (since 2008), a youth program facilitator, yoga teacher, and parent and step-parent to a total of five amazing children ranging in age from 12 to 33.
